Kelty Coyote 4900:
• If a pack is bigger than 3,000 cubic inches, I am a total sucker for a top loader that turns into a fanny pack - a feature the Kelty Coyote 4900 has. I only used this pack for a half hour. I was in Peru, hiking around in the sand (Peru is really sandy on the coast). I am pretty sure the Kelty 4900 owner’s name was Brian…I feel terrible for not being able to remember. Anyway, we decided to go have lunch at the top of a sand dune and I wasn’t a big fan of climbing the sand dune with a huge pack on, so I just threw some water and an orange (a green orange, like all the oranges in S. America) into the top compartment. We made it to the top of the sand dune in record time :) Aside from my fanny pack admiration, I thought the Kelty Coyote 4900 pack was worthy of admiration in many other arenas as well. It fit well, even though Brian is a couple inches taller than me. It has loads of pockets, and is great for keeping organized. All in all, the Coyote 4900 is a great pack for medium length trip.
